Sure, they deflate but they don't disappear. You wanna rassle with the slack air bags in egressing?


Cars are designed with different priorities and specs. Pilots are meat in the seat, they're not buying what they're flying in most cases.


"... been to fatal helicopter crashes and said the occupants were like jello from all their broken bones."  Never seen that, I think somebody's pulling your leg. Massive trauma, yeah. Head and neck trauma usually kill the occupants. Seen partial decapitations, etc. The main rotor's your worst enemy in a crash.


I'm not arguing for airbags. I believe in energy absorbing seats and good 4-point inertial harnesses
