A major factor is aircraft type......For example; 206 vs 407


I used hate starting a 206 in wind with any turbulence.


On the other had the 407 was a dream to start in the wind.


In either case make sure no one approaches the aircraft while while starting or shutting down ESPECIALLY in windy conditions.  Those blades really get to flapping.
