As a former GoMer turned hems I will say that of course gomers can do work more quickly, but that is not always the case. Your criticism does tell a lot about your experience though. You're one of those guys that watches everyone else do the big jobs. Perhaps the air medical side has a different certificate, and this the 12 mont is different. Perhaps they found some issues that needed to be fixed. After all, the point of an inspection is to actively try to find issues-not just initialing the form. Or perhaps they were waiting on parts. Did they find a frayed tail rotor control cable? Or is that something that YOU don't look at?  I feel bad for the pilots that have to fly what you have "worked on". Anyone worth their salt in this business knows that rushing maintenance has a negative effect on safety. 
I worked for a company that wanted us to only do what was on the form, and not look for anything else. Not surprisingly they had an incident.
