Looks like he was westbound on I-12, headed for Lafayette, and got off at exit 10 (S. Range Ave, La 3002) maybe to go to get breakfast at the Pilot truckstop which is south of the Interstate on the west side of Range Ave. The overpass is marked on the northbound side of Range Ave. as having 15' clearance. Curiously, there was no sign on the southbound side, which is where the driver was approaching from. There is speculation on PPRUNE that the ship is G-VIND, SN 92006, which was the (cough:::cough) "first" S-92 put in service, which was originally registered as N192PH. Other's disagree, and speculate that it's a Bristow aircraft (but then why would it be going to Lafayette?). Either way, sad end to that airframe. |
