45 with kids and fairly set life (no freedom to move at this point). Yes, first 3-5 yrs can suck in airplane world. Difference is that those same years suck in helicopter world but in airplane world your pay and benefits go up, and up, and up. Quality of life improves. Benefits improve. Helicopter world they plateau and to not have them plateau you have to compromise severely in comparison. Airplane world has some form of job at every little FBO nationwide and many more options in general to choose from that don't compromise quality of life. Would you tell your kids to do the same job you did when you saw someone doing almost the exact same type of job for WAY better pay and benefits? Of course not. |
