Regs technicality  

I fly offshore and was discussing my day over a beer with a safety guy who I thought was a buddy. I told him it was really picturesque to fly down through a cloud layer that was thin, less than 1,000 ft thick, and pop out underneath. When the sun rays are just right it is truly magical. 
Anyway fast forward 3 days and I get a call from the CP saying they've already Interviewed the passenger bubbas and they know I've been flying unfiled ifr!!! What a back stabber. Not sure what will happen next they have taken away my flights for the week.
