and rudder skills, lack thereof, make pilots dependent on pushing buttons to save the day when simple confidence in good raw pilot stick and rudder skill can and does save the day.

The Army's choice of basic training helicopter is totally absurd. Get a squiggly little one with no SAS and learn how to fly a helicopter before messing with two engines and other distractions.
