I took ground school, got a few hours here and there....  I remember the scanning rule well.


 


With all these new high tech gizmos in the cockpit a lot of you idiots have that scan ratio swapped around.


 


I once had a moron ask me what the little plus'(es) on all the lighted panels meant.  I was like W.T.F. are you even talking about dude?  He says come see I'll show you...  He pointed to an overhead switch panel that clearly had a cross etched in white against the black background.  I was like, Dude are you serious?  You noticed that $#!+?  Told him it's the lighting connector on the back of the panel moron.  It lets the installer know where it's centered so he can line it up and not crack the panel on install.  For real bro, you need to pay more attention to what's going on outside of the windscreen and ignore dumb $#!+ on a panel that's distracting you from your SCAN....
