Hey, dipsh*t.  No one has to prove anything.  If you don't want to do HAA, don't.  If you do, do it.  As for all of the mil haters, you can eat a d*ck.  Just because you didn't make that choice, don't be a p*ssh and hate on the ones that did.  Yes, we earned certain benefits.  So, a mil retiree is what it is.  If you don't like it because you think that we wreck your pay scale, it isn't gonna change any time soon.  So, put your money (not as much as a mil retiree with VA bennys, Ha!) where your mouth is and vote with your feet.  But, no.  You'll take what ya get.  You're the actual bottom feeders.
