What you need here is an Idea Man  

So here's the idea: tell them no to that because of the risks. 
Then give an alternate proposal: Arrange for the parade to stop briefly along the route at several pre-arranged times coordinated by/with a ground comms contact, while you perform a flyby down the parade route. Gets you in the public eye, is safer, and showcases the aircraft doing what it does.
