135.65 The pilot in command shall enter or have entered in the aircrafta> maintenance log each mechanical irregularity that comes to the pilot's attention during flight time.


I am sure there is a similar statement in your ops manual.  


We can not pick and choose which Regs we wish to comply with.  Very Simple.  I write things up all the time.  Only takes deferral by MEL or  parts and a pen to get back airworthy.
