So the NTSB says yesterday that the helicopter was over the runway and that the airplane was turning left. Am I the only one that heard this? A grainy security camera says otherwise. Even people with no knowledge whatsoever of aviation are on the internet saying huh? Help me out here. Is there some sort of weird logic the NTSB has and putting out erroneous information?

The video shows airplane for just a second with left wing up.   But, a few seconds earlier, the helicopter could have landed (to a hover) over the runway, and the airplane was attempting to do a go-around to the left?    NTSB might be describing one thing, the video shows what happened after that.

Data uplink downlink. The good old cessna 150 probably does not and doesn't need it. Bell probably already knows what happened.

is. I watched the ntsb news conference and they did not say the airplane was turning left or the helicopter was over the runway. the video is very clear and not grainy. they specifically said the helicopter had hovered over to the grass next to the runway and that the aiplane lost control on approach and hit the helicopter so yes, you are the only one that heard this unless you want to provide a link that says otherwise.

The best use for ADS-B has been implemented by the state of California for the purpose of collecting property taxes on aircraft operated within the state’s boundaries.

Thats actually funny and not far from the truth in a few years.   After they finish telling people what tires they can and can not buy... they will tell you when and where you can fly and tax you for each foot vertically and every mile you travel.

Juan Brown of blancolirio YouTube Chanel has a good report.  Pretty clearly the 407 was off the runway and the 150 made a last second climbing right turn into the 407. Some are speculating a wake turbulence situation from the 407 but I have my doubts.

Somewhere I read the 150 had just come out of maintenance and was on a return to service check flight.

So you think something mechanical broke, at the final 2 seconds before his wheels were about to touch the runway?

The Mechanical thing didn't break the whole time he was flying circles around the pattern for a full

hour of test flight.  No it let go just as he was lined up to impact a hovering 407....so perfectly as to bring it and itself down like the plane was possessed like Christine is a sentient, murderous 1958 Plymouth Fury?????

This is what you think?   Now I understand why you idiots crash so much.

Appears to be a classic case of rotor vortices causing the Cessna pilot to lose control during a landing/go around.  The Cessna pilot should not have attempted a landing with the 407 hovering so close to the runway.  Simple radio calls would have avoided this.
