I don’t make 185k or 195k after taxes in EMS hahahahhaa. Nobody does. 

EMS is 90k to start if you are lucky. Less in nice areas. Work a lot of OT and you can start to get close to utility base-pay scales. Your pay is commensurate with your risk. Utility isn’t worth it to me. EMS is the right amount of risk for me, individual risk tolerance must be evaluated. Risk tolerance also changes with age and family status.
