You are paid what the market pays, not the amount you fantasize you are worth. Maybe you guys should have made better life decisions. You are worth exactly what your paycheck pays, nothing more.

If you wanted money, you should been an airplane pilot.

Actually, yes, I am. I make a pretty decent wage. More than most from what I gather in this industry. No, it’s not airline money but for what I do, I’m pretty satisfied. Family is important to me so I’m home every day and get to hang out with my kids a lot. I don’t do a lot at work. I watch YouTube, take a walk, talk to a friend on the phone, make lunch. Oh, a call…. Ok, I’ll go fly my helicopter around from point A to B and then back home. Didn’t really do a lot of “work”. Used my nugget for a second or two but that was about it. The point is, I’m happy. I don’t need to make airline money to be happy. Would it be nice? Sure, but I don’t NEED to make it to be happy and satisfied with my life. My suggestion to all of you who are angry about your salary, find some zen. If that’s with the airlines, so be it. For me, a job in which I really don’t work all that hard, make a pretty decent wage and live a good life are good enough for me. Namaste. 

But I’ve been thinking of jumping to airline gig at Spirit. Any insights?

now what am I supposed to do

In EMS I always think of myself as a school bus driver. I work for a few hours in the morning maybe again in the evening and do a whole lot of nothing in between. I’ve worked aloooooot of worse jobs for a lot less pay.

work for 12 hours at night
