Drove by the PHI main Lafayette facility and it looked like a ghost town, what happened to that place it uses to employee hundreds of employees?

Here’s the straight s%$#:

  • KPIs Over People: They choked the life out of the facility with useless metrics and "harassment questionnaires." If it didn't fit into a tidy little box for the Board to j3rk 0ff to, it didn't exist. They replaced actual maintenance with digital paper-pushing.

  • The Layoff Axe: Once the numbers didn't look "lean" enough, they started cutting throats. They purged the high-time guys to save a buck, flushing decades of experience down the drain just to lean out the books. Then they purged the mechanics and the managers who actually knew how to run a fleet, They think they can operate a Kingdom with a skeleton crew and some wishful thinking.

  • The Mass Exodus: No one with any self-respect stays in a shop where the leadership treats the people actually doing the work like sh%*. They realized the "Kingdom" was a sinking ship and left the suits to clap their coconuts for "King of the Board."

  • The Result: You drove by a "ghost town" because PHI stopped being an aviation company and started being a corporate meat grinder. The lights are off because there’s nobody left who gives a damn, and the company sure as hell doesn't care about the legacy they left rotting in the swamp.

It’s not a mystery—it’s just corporate greed killing a once-great operation.

whew.....now to take a breather and crack a beer....

Applies unfortunately to too many Corp American Co.'s ! "What was you r last Quarterly KPI"??!!! All about profit to meet the street! What I'd like to know is when these wall street predicters are off i.e. like the weatherman WHO holds them accountable?? Oh "XYZ Co. will make $05 a share this quarter" but only make $0.3 per share, The sky is falling, sell off the Co. is doomed!! WT F?!?! They still made a profit NOT a  loss just not what some predicter said!??!

And yes  I am by KNOW WAY a stock market person. Just an avg. guy asking, Yet all the people I know (Yes they are money market/investors. Not Mr. Wonderful/Cuban level BUT are in the biz))  & a lot can not give me a real answer. Just curious if any Real savvy investors  here can  give a REAL answer, because I admit I have no real clue to this stuff, hence not in that business !

Did all this and became a profitable business.

You must have been a bankruptcy termination who had lots of experience and did very little.  Glad to see therapy is helping you

FecalFOD hit the nail on the head.  Corporate GREED is going. to be the downfall of some once “great” places to work.  Once the dominos start to fall, it’s the beginning of the end.

Hence my post and only my post got the delete button from he MODS.  They can't handle the truth nor have the Big P in the lime light.  I'll say it again.  They started shuffling Mx Managers around on purpose to cause dissension and chaos among the ranks.  This started around 2012-2013.  Once they did that it was all down hill.  Gone were the days of a West side area manager being in that position for decades and building a rapport and mutual respect with subordinates. Where occasionally employees were treated to steak dinners at the Saltgrass, (the whole mx night crew shift).........just because the lowly helper girl (Ruthie)who was the aircraft washer and otherwise janitor made 30 years with the company.  THAT'S RIGHT.  Pete B. asked her where she wanted to go because he was buying......meaning the Company Credit card was paying.  And she without hesitation said Saltgrass.  I thought it was gonna be just Pete and her.  NO, he had us all load up and drive over and we had probably the best steak I ever ate at a dining location. That's the kind of perks we had back in the day.

I'm sure corporate saw that bill and had a flippin come apart.  Something had to be done.  FK Morale.  We have got to get a grip on this spending.  Let's Start moving them dudes around every 2 years....that'll keep them in check.

Before that, when a boss would ask if you could do a bit extra.  Like say, "Dave, I need you to go offshore tomorrow and rescue that AOG 407 on  EB 160".....you didn't hesitate.  You just said "sure Pete, whatever you need."  And you woke your a-ss up at the a-ss crack of dawn and hopped your butt in a bird with all your tools in tote and you went offshore.........not knowing if you were even gonna make it back that night or have to sleep out there for the duration.

That's what I'm talking about.  That kinda thing wasn't asked often but there was no hesitation when it did.

Over the years, and with the jab and the jab requirements and all the BS.  You GD right I played the jab card when I was tasked once again to go offshore for a different Boss for some of the same absolute BS.  "Dave need you to go home early tonight and be back at 6am, there's a grounded 92 on the shell platform."  "Wait a minute bossman, didn't Shell require all rig apes get the jab?  And no one allowed on the platform with out it?  I'm a pure blood remember.....I'm not playing the games you all decided to play..... "

Needless to say, I didn't get sent offshore that trip.  Sorry Chris K.

Shortly after that he got shuffled too. But that was a whole nother story.

Stay tuned.  I got tons of dirt.

Guru out.

And a preemptive FK you to say wut.....because yes Alex for 200.......all this did happen.  Dic head.

just worst on the air med side...loosing experienced Mechs, Pilots, clinicians for NEW hires...you only offer 5yr Sign On Bonus's when desperate...It isn't a Sign on when paid out over 5yrs and then if you leave early before 5yrs you have to pay back everything they paid up in bonus money up to that point and even a Training contract...and yeah they will take you to court over it...and you will loose...No thanks ...I used to get other pilots and Mech to jump ship to another company but they like the Leather  Whipping from Corp. and low pay..and their 1% pay raise....and if you are getting that 5yr Sign on bonus, you won't get a pay raise within that time.....I have stopped trying to recruit them to leave...
