We are aware of the open shifts, it's devastating to the KPI. It seems that management is still trying to come up with a different answer to the 30 year question. Actively pursuing pilots means you must pay better than the other operators. The hiring pool is the other companies: no-longer the Army. I've been here 15 years and go to Denver once a year for my flight review. I know a handful of pilots that have gone to other companies for better pay. But, mainly because they don't want to be messed with the "check ride" flight review. Also, we aren't going to get anyone to add the 130 qual. No-one wants to be jacked around on the flight review once, let alone twice.

Before coming here I was teaching Army Pilots at Rucker. Smaller classes and fewer pilots being trained plus they extended the mandatory time to a 10 year contract to fly in the Army. It’s going to be even longer before they get out and it’s designed to encourage them to stay in the Army when the 10 years are up since they’re tempted by a military retirement and the sunk cost fallacy. Yep the recruitment pool is other companies. |

We'll pay: OT, incentive, Travel pay, airline, hotel, rental car, per diem, Instructor/check pilot OT, training aircraft expenses, airline to denver, hotel, per diem, more money to flight safety. Not to mention the, up to $50,000 stipends... But, we can't increase the pay? |

System is rigged in their favor when ya'll are addicted to peanuts (OT).
It's WAY cheaper for them to have 1-2 positions open permanently and fill them via OT shifts.
Ya'll keep taking the bait because OT FEELS LIKE like easy money.
Dance, monkey, dance!!! |
