Yup, looks like train engineers have the same skills as HAA pilots (as defended by someone on a different thread).  I mean, crew brief, pre-flight walk-around, "communication is everything".  Looks SO similar.... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/5tjCsq4bsXo

Career pay sounds the same even.  Start at $55-70K.  Can end up around $100K just like you can end up when you have the hours to get into HAA. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2OEN_lBVde4

This guys does the numbers in 2022: $60-80K first year, so maybe the other video guy was off a little: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bxYpyUj48E

I made $72K my first year in HAA in 2020.  After many years and a whole lotta dolla bills in training and sacrifice to family to get to those hours to "qualify" for the privilege.

My EMS pay has been good. But it isn't a usual 3rd party provider.

2024 with lots of overtime was 170k

2025 with little overtime was 150k

EMS pay for me has been higher than IFR captain in the Gulf. With that said, utility is still the best job. Maybe even ag spray work.
