Which states do HAA companies like Med Trans, PHI and Air Methods pay over time for hours worked over 40 hours in a work week? I'm trying to determine if the extra pay (due to OT paid for over 40 hours in a week), makes a line pilot more profitable that a float pilot position. I see Med Trans is hiring more float pilots (80 and counting). I wonder if that is to avoid the OT pay, as their float pilots are based in TX (and dont get OT over 40), even though they work in states where OT is paid to the line pilots. Do any companies pay the OT for activities carried out over the 40 hours that do not involve patient transports. Ex:- commute, training etc. |

For schedule shifts.. Anything on your day off will be OT. No OT over 40 hours for scheduled shifts. Only OT for scheduled shifts is anything past your 12 hours. |

We operate under the RLA. Ain’t no OT over 40. Clinicians in certain states do. But no pilots I’m aware of. And I work in California, and it ain’t happening out here |

If you are in Ca., then you get OT everyday. 1.5 after 8 hours, 2x after 12. Ask AMC and Med Trans about how much they have paid in FLSA lawsuits. |

Since RLA preempts State law, there is no such requirement (NT) +4/-1

none that im aware of. Most all pay OT after 12 hours per shift. We operate under the RLA and transportation rules so the traditional 40 hour work week does not apply. |
