FAA; You have sleep apnea and we don’t think you get enough restful sleep. ME; Yes I do. I go to bed with plenty of time for my sleep patterns. FAA; We insist you wear this really awkward mask and hose assembly 6 hours per night. Me; I am so encumbered and uncomfortable that I sleep even less and never fully. FAA; Data shows we are better deciders of what’s best. Send in your reports monthly. |

If there wasn't any issue why does the FAA think you have sleep apnea |

Anyone who voluntarily tells an FAA doc that they have sleep apnea is basically saying Here, take my medical, I don't want to be a pilot anymore. That's like telling the cop that stops you for speeding, I'll bet you didn't know that I have drugs in the car too! Just dumb. |

if they say "sleep apnea", you are then going to need a sleep study and special issuance. Part of your special issuance is a monthly reporting requirement, and you must take with you on trips (and use) your machine at home and traveling.
You'd know this if you were really an experienced aviator (with experienced aviator friends) |
