It will certainly save the NTSB time of having to comb through the wreckage...
Will truly be a smoking hole when they go down! |

I love how hydrogen is considered eco-friendly yet twice as deadly if something goes wrong. |

Yeah, so at first it was the fiery non-crashworthy fuel tanks that could get ya, then there's the 2000.5 hours flying along fat dumb and happy til BOOM, there goes your rotor-head... to now just having a small hydrogen bomb fuel cell explosion if ever involved in an accident.
There are post-crash fires now, there will be post-crash explosions with hydrogen. |

Posted by "From The Dead" on March 16 when everyone was Robbie-bashing:
"Yes. Lots of hours. Will never spend a second in one ever again.....
You have 2000 hours in them eh? Just remember, it could be at 2000.5 hours while flying straight & level, it happens..... Boom..... in a nanosecond.... From that point on, you will never be a believer again....
Save yourself. Save your family the grief. Move on to a different machine."

Basically, the development of a hydrogen R66 is a waste of time if the Alia can do the exact same range with battery power alone (and triple the range if the Alia goes hydrogen).
Also, sounds like the R66 would have to only fly in cooler locations if it needs those fans to cool the hydrogen tanks if they're not cryogenically cooling them... |
