the average salary in the us is 69k. I would say the average 5 year helicopter pilot is making over 6 figures. in 2007 I was making 80k in the gom at my first job after instructing. yes, I worked some ot but not a crazy amount. hung it up last year making about 180k as an ems pool pilot. 200k is easily attainable. 3 times the average wage were scraps I was happy to pick up.
