The trick I use to remember is this:

1.  No spaces.  Anywhere.

2.  Put in all decimal points, wherever they are in the coordinates (decimal degrees, decimal minutes, etc).

3.  Don't put anything for "Degrees", "Minutes", or "Seconds".  Assume foreflight knows to do that.

4.  Make sure you put in 0's when needed.  34 degrees 4.1234 minutes has to be 3404.1234

5.  Everything in North America needs a negative sign before the longitude.

6.  Separate the two by a /


This handles DMS, decimal degrees, and decimal minutes.
