1. Typing Coordinates in Maps Search
ForeFlight accepts several standard latitude/longitude formats.
  • Degree Decimal Minute (most common for aviation): E.g., 3412.56N / 11824.23W
  • Decimal Degrees (e.g., negative for West longitude): E.g., 34.7000, -118.4200 
How to enter it:
  1. Open ForeFlight and go to the Maps view.
  2. Tap the Search box (or open the Flight Plan Editor and tap Edit).
    • Type your coordinates exactly as you would format them (e.g., 3412.56N/11824.23W). Note: Make sure there are no spaces in the coordinate string, or just use a comma to separate Lat/Long.
    • Tap Enter or select the coordinate result from the drop-down menu to add it to your route. 


2. Dropping a Pin on the Map
If you don't know the exact coordinates but have an area of interest, you can use the map:
  1. Go to the Maps view and zoom into your desired location.
  2. Press and hold (tap-hold) on the exact spot on the map until the "Add to Route" menu pops up.
  3. The coordinate will appear at the top. Tap More, then Save to create a custom User Waypoint. 

3. Creating User Waypoints
If you have a pre-determined list of coordinates you want to save permanently:
  1. Tap More (bottom right) > Custom Content > User Waypoints.
  2. Tap the + (Plus) button in the top right.
  3. Enter a custom name and paste the coordinates into the Location field.
