The US military barely has enough pilots or maintainers to man their conbat units.

Defense contractors are the only option to train their newbs.

Granted, they should have shifted to the Private-to-Commercial outsourced plan YEARS ago (like what the Navy's been doing for their help guys and Rucker is "testing" now). Would have saved a ton of money.

The Army also should NEVER have considered using the Lakota as a primary trainer for IERW. Stupid idea from the beginning. Most expensive option that should have seen multiple generals relieved for fraud, waste, and abuse.
