Purchasing power, the salaries for helicopter pilots really hasn’t changed much in 40 years.  It’s just that the dollar has lost that much value.  In 1987, I purchased a Rolex GMT2 for $450.  Today, that same watch goes for what; 8, 9K.?  We’re not really getting ahead, we’re lost in inflation.  It’s just that 135K sounds a whole lot better, and makes you feel like you’re middle class and worth more that you really are.
