Training departments at commercial operators need to SERIOUSLY consider re-thinking how they onboard this next generation coming out of the military too.
Students over the past 5-10 years from those programs have been allowed through with lower standards and less required knowledge of the profession (FAR/AIM, charts, basic nav, etc.).
It's not hopeless, but there needs to be concerted effort to get them up to standard to be trusted in commercial aircraft missions (especially single pilot!).
