Keeping your private helicopter at your home  

Have wanted to own a helicopter for a long time and im getting close to a point to make this happen. Looking for insight at keeping the helicopter at home.  I know eventually some neighbor will bitch about the sound. What can be done or does anyone have insight to keeping their helicopter at their house.    I live in Florida on a little less then 6 acres. I do NOT live in the city limits.  I have read where you can apply for a private helipad through the FAA but im wondering if anyone has done that.  A local guy Cleetus McFarland lands at his home and i cant find where he has it registered as a pad anywhere. Not sure he will talk to me about his experience with having his ship at his house. Thanks in advance.
