Original Message they are pilots masquerading as managers thinking being a pilot means knowing everything under the sun. Pretty naive stuff but it's been that way since helicopters 'hit the scene'. Screws up a great deal of effort to realistically deal with issues and take the industry forward. Developed in to a helicopter culture based on good ol' boy' gang behavior. Watched it since the early 70s. Those few who successfully bucked this culture and got things done were vilified though I doubt they paid it much attention. Lot of ex-military involved. True. Things are changing based on a better balance of educated civil and military pilots. |
