If the deer were right next to the muzzle of the weapon when fired the explosion of excess trapped energy not taken up by the projectile would definitely adversely affect the deer's hearing and other soft tissues about the head, obviously including the eyes, but down range that projo is decelerating and wouldn't ruffle a feather if it passed right next to it.  That's not to say whatever it hits is going to have a pleasant time of it.  F=MA, 700 grains doing, say, 2700fps, well, you all are very smart.
