Or is it? MIL is the design bureau.  Named after the designer Mikhail Mil.  However (traditionally), the last two letters of the designers last name preceed the model.  Nikolay Kamov - Ka, Artem Mikoyan & Mikhail Gurevich - MiG, Pavel Sukhoi - Su, Oleg Antonov - An, Sergey Ilyushin - Il, etc...
