Original Message Pilots have no idea what it took to get helicopter operators unionized and how much was gained by doing so. That said there's no arguing unions supporting helicopter operations have little leverage due to the pilot populations having very little solidarity due to geographic dispersion of bases. Pilots cannot gain the required sense of comfort in collectively working as one unit so things like strikes cannot be advantaged. The union representation is ham strung very seriously by this. Overcome this obstacle and the future might be brighter. |
