State EMS Board required 3000 flight hours, but that wasn't competitive for the job. Yep, 5000 was probably pretty close. It was a lot harder to get into HEMS then, and it wasn't an entry-level job. Mostly university programs. Before a 206 could be found on every streetcorner, like it is today.
