If you think of this as "... risk(ing) your life for a living" then you're doing it wrong. A professional avoids or mitigates risk. Done right, HEMS is no more dangerous than any helicopter job. Actually, it would be much less dangerous than a lot of, if not most jobs that fly at night. It's the night operations and the faulty physiological considerations that increase the risk and account for two-thirds of HEMS accidents/incidents... |
