Hey, I'm no fan of EV's, but even I am not totally pessimistic about them. Yes, the number of EV's on the road will overwhelm the electrical grids in some states.  And it's true that there currently is no standard in charging facilities. Many/most don't even have canopies to hide under if you have to charge when it's raining. And finally, the advertised range of these EV's may be...umm..."optimistic."

But, speaking of being optimistic, that doesn't mean things won't change. Electrical grids will be improved, there will be more charging stations built, and a standard U.S. plug/system will emerge. Remember the competition between Sony's Betamax videotape format and VHS? We saw which one won. So yeah, right now, the successful implementation of EV's depends a lot upon where in the country you live. A trip from NY to LA would not only be stressful but would take a LOT longer than doing it in an ICE vehicle. That's today. Tomorrow, things will get better. We have to have faith and hope for the future, or we'll just be a bunch of sour, anti-everything pessimists.
