I made a poor decision to go work for RLC about 15 years ago.  We had this pilot in our indoc class we quickly named DownWind Kevin.  

He was clueless about everything... I wouldn't let my dog fly with that guy.  Some pilots just never get it, have near zero situational awarness, aren't trainable and are incapable of problem solving and decision making on the fly.
