if you are a professional pilot, the job will drive you nuts. Most of them behave like spoiled children and they have huge egos. That's the reality at most bases. Be nice to them and be professional of course, but if you think for one second you are "part of the team" you are probably wrong: you are only the driver, which is fine by me. I don't care because I figured this out long ago. 

I make good money and it sure beats being an offshore grunt or flying a line all day. I'm pretty lazy, I'll admit it but I take every flight I can. The med crews have no problem turning down a flight for any reason and they will try to get you to be the one to do it. The biggest drawback for me is nights but I've had worse jobs.
