They've rescued 26 before (plus 4 crew makes it 30) and their cabin area is tight with the additional junk they need.

We took 20 when seats out in OIF a number of times in the early part of the invasion (4 rows of 5 sitting on assault packs).  Could have carried a few more between the crewchief seats (our survival gear box was strapped down between them so someone could have sit on it) and the pilot seats if necessary (which it wasn't, but that space can easily fit 3-4 people). 

Coast guard pilots have serious ballz.  Friend of mine who transferred there said their mins are 1/4 mile visibiilty (no ceiling restriction).
