Yet, the example shows TRAFFIC as those being called at the beginning of the radio call.   I'm talking to TRAFFIC (other animate objects/pilot's) not the AIRPORT (an animate object).

Self-announce transmissions may include aircraft type to aid in identification and detection, but should not use paint schemes or color descriptions to replace the use of the aircraft call sign. For example, “MIDWEST TRAFFIC, TWIN COMMANDER FIVE ONE ROMEO FOXTROT TEN MILES NORTHEAST” or “MIDWEST TRAFFIC, FIVE ONE ROMEO FOXTROT TWIN COMMANDER TEN MILES NORTHEAST, ...

Notice their example of a proper radio call uses "traffic" at the beginning, and doesn't even end with "Midwest".

These are RECOMMENDED procedures!   Not regulations governing a radio station license.

My radio call is a self-announce so that other TRAFFIC can hear me, not to the kid behind the desk who feels compelled to jump on the radio and answer me blocking the radio from possibly other traffic.   I'm not taking to him, he doesn't need to respond or control me!
