As all that excess CO2 is causing the sun's surface temperature to warm up, which in turn, causes huge sun spots, which in turn causes massive solar flares, which in turn causes significant magnetic field annomolies on Earth, which in turn effect the northern lights.

It's all due to the burning of fossil fuels!
