Original Message I did the co-bubba gig at Columbia Helicopters when I had 1500 hours of Robinson time. Worked in the back woods of Alaska for 6 months. Food and other pilots was good, accomodations were adequate, not seeing a woman for that amount of time was rough. As a non drinker, non hunter it wasn't my scene but it was what I needed to do get on in the industry. They did send my overseas, month on/month off and that was a good gig. Per diem and a free round trip airline ticket every month allowed me to see most of the places in the world I may never have seen. Some pilots allowed me to fly as much as I wanted, and one guy handed me a clip board and said stay off the controls. The twin turbine time helped with a Sikorsky PIC job soon after I was furloughed so it was worth it to me. Single go for it, married??? |
