A quick look at the job boards show:-

AMC need 85

Med Trans need 52

PHI need 35

Metro need 32

That is over 200 and doesn't include all the other companies, stand alone hospital based programs, or non HEMS operations. 

Where are these pilots going to come from, are flight schools busy with new people looking to be helicopter pilots? Should companies come up with cadet programs from zero time left seat to right seat captain?
