Airline pilots stick together regardless of which airline they work for. They would NEVER cross a picket line to poach another pilot's job. That is a career ending move. Helo operators know they can run off any pilot they want and another will be knocking on the door the next day to take that job for less pay. You don't have to unionize or strike to stick together. If one operator is low-balling pilots then put the word out and no one should apply or interview.
