The foul language was shown on purpose.  Nothing is ever on TV by accident. 

Are we to believe the production crew couldn't switch to another camera in a millisecond?  Or to a GEICO commercial?

The reason people cling to the belief that it was "real" is because they WANT it to be true.  And, of course, they feel like idiots fro believing it in the first place.
