Message If so...I would be interested to know the rope fiber and strength/load ratio. I know that happened a few times back in the 70s and 80s with nylon ropes near maximum capacity.
Nylon elongates 7% at 20% of break strength. The UHMPE ropes used now are 1-2% at 20% of break And typically utilized that much lower load ratios.
I've seen and have videos of several remote hook releases with zero recoil for that reason.
