Message It's sad how long it takes our industry to advance designs and technology... the Defiant X is just a build off of 1970's proven technology (which the Russians took off and ran with):

The S-69 program started in 1973 (when a Huey could fly a whopping 120kts max, straight and level) and by 1978 the last test model (deemed the XH-59 by the military) could fly a sustained 278kts.
And we get all excited now about a helicopter that can fly over 200 knots. Old news.
