You guys are ridiculous...

There are car crashes EVERY DAY.  Many of them having fatalites.

There are GA airplane crashes every few days.

Trains hit cars at crossings pretty consistently.  Trains even derail sometimes.

Boats run into things sometimes (and sink across the world more consistently than you'd think).

There are "wars and rumors of wars" despite looking at history books to see just how many conflicts are occuring simultaneously across the world during any 5 year window in the previous 2000 years.

There are famines across the world somewhere pretty much ever year of my lifetime.

But sure, helicopter crashes are occuring everywhere, all the time, and yours will be next.  It's definitely a dangerous business and I know more people who have died in aviation accidents than car accidents.  Look at the stats, though, and you'll be pretty surprised to find that it's safer than you think.

Also, the military doesn't advertise the majority of their accidents and the only news you hear are ones with fatalities or that occurred where media caught a photo of it.  Google FlightFax and look at previous months to see just how many Army accidents occur that you don't hear about in the media.
