I have a "short" shotgun in a special watertight case I bought while operating a helicopter in remote coniditons.  And since then, I have purchased a take down rifle in a bag with survival kit that I carry in airplane and helicopter when flying over or operating in rugged terrain.  God may I never need it, but should something happen, I would rather have that than nothing.  So stick you gun collectors forum there genius.  Its called free communication and people sharing.
