Just because you CAN, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I don't have a problem with anybody flying anything up to whatever altitude they can get. But to do that on the edge of Class Bravo airspace without a transponder or ADSB doesn't make sense. No, 5,000 feet is not that high, but on the edge of Class Bravo there are numberous high performance aircraft arriving and departing that are transitioning that altitude at speeds up to 250 kts. It's called situational awareness. In this case the paraglider got T-Boned by a single-pilot IFR aircraft and now two pilots are dead and their families are greiving on Christmas.

And to the poster that admits to "cloud surfing" and flying his paraglider in IMC...that is not just stupid, it's criminal. I hope you'll reconsider that act after this tragedy.
