Message The stereotypical American corporation where management ≠ leadership.
Yes, a properly run company should always be open to innovation and ways to increase efficiency.
An even better company not only encourages that, but rewards employees for those contributions.
Unfortunately what we often see are business 'leaders' who are completely out of their scope, and so worried about someone else outshining them that everything is micromanaged (and consequently mismanaged). Fall guys are stacked in middle management to take the heat when the business fails, yet have little to no authority to make improvements.
I miss the days of working for a small, well-run, family-owned operation...
