I've always understood that to be a trade, I've never heard it called a comp.

I wouldn't make trade days a normal thing. Let's say the guy moves on for whatever reason, then you never get your day paid back.

Trades are probably safe, if you get it in writing and make the deal that you will get repaid your trade day in a month or two.

I would rather take the overtime.
